USAG Team Continues to Improve
October 12, 2009. Our USAG Gymnastics Team is showing consistent improvement as they progress towards the state competitions starting in late November. We are very excited, as all of our competitors have qualified for their respective state meets! On October 4, our Level 4 gymnasts took 1st, 2nd and
3rd and our Level 5 gymnast took 1st in the individual All-Around at the Jet Kids meet. On October 11, our Level 5 repeated her performance as the first place competitor while our Level 6 team captured first place at the Adrenaline meet. Coach Casie is very excited about the girls’ progress and looks forward to conti-nued improvement as we wrap up our season. “ I am very proud of each of our girls,” she says “and can’t wait to continue WOWing the competition. ”
Encore Hosts Coaches Clinic
September 14, 2009. On Sunday, September 13, Encore served as host for an all day coaches clinic sponsored by Gymnastics Educational Workshop. The clinic focused on safe and effective teaching techniques for recreational gymnasts. The clinic was attended by about 50 coaches from gyms located throughout Colorado.
Trick or Treat Street
October 16, 2009. Encore Gymnastics Academy will again be participating in Highlands Ranch’s Trick or Treat Street. The annual event, sponsored by the Highlands Ranch Community Association, will be held at the HRCA Eastridge Recreation Center Saturday,October 31 from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm. Gymnastics staff and students will be there to promote our programs and, of course, to pass out Dum Dums to all the kids. The event attracts about 3,000 costumed children, so please stop by our table to say hello.
EAGLES Teams Form for 2010
October 12, 2009. Our recent EAGLES team tryouts resulted in the formation of both compulsory and optional teams. The teams are preparing for their competitive seasons which begins in April and culminates in the State meet late in June. Encore Starts Dance Techniques Class
October 14, 2009. Encore has begun offering a dance techniques class. The class is designed to provide focused instruction from the smallest placement through the more advanced skills, and one on one correction, maximizing individual potential while concentrating on technique and style of dance in gymnastics.
The program emphasizes ballet, the foundation of all dance. It promotes memory development and quick thinking. The physical and mental control learned is essential in the proper execution of skills. Build a strong foundation in ballet and you will progress in other forms of dance movement.
